Cordova Methane Controls BurnerHawk Methane Mitigation Product Receives Patent

The newly awarded patent underscores BurnerHawk’s innovative design, distinguishing it from other emissions control solutions on the market. Its design makes it ideal for remote and weather-prone locations, with the capability to trigger alarm status and shutdown in production equipment.
As colder weather approaches, pilot flames become more susceptible to harsh weather, causing pilot flame and main burner loss due to plugged or frozen pilot orifices, wind or other factors. While the BurnerHawk is not designed to relight the burner, it plays a critical role in preventing methane emissions when an extinguished pilot is not detected and restarted promptly. If the pilot flame goes out, BurnerHawk automatically closes both the pilot and main burner supply, stopping raw from flowing out of the stack. It continuously monitors the pilot and main burner on production equipment to ensure proper operation. Without such monitoring, a lost flame can leave the pilot and main burner valve open, allowing unburned methane to escape into the atmosphere for days or weeks until personnel identify and address the issue, creating a major methane release.
