Frequently Asked Questions
VentHawk
The VentHawk is installed in-line and downstream of pilot burner regulator. Each controller can hold up to 8 vent gas inputs. All pneumatic vent lines are routed to the VentHawk for supplemental pilot burner usage. If separator does not have a burner, VentHawk may be routed to an enclosed combustor, CH4, TEG unit or generator. When vent gas is available, pilot gas is shut off.
VentHawk puts back pressure on the system by design to introduce the vent gas into pilot gas pressure. The back pressure is mitigated by using the exhaust gas from the controllers to balance the valves and ensure closure of the valves.
Customer utilizes same existing procedure in regard to purging the pneumatic system of liquids, no additional action required.
Cost is dependent on your pneumatic setup on production equipment. We recommend our teams have discussions about your facilities and then install a demo unit at no cost for your review of the systems’ functionality. At that time, we can better pinpoint the costs for your operations and submit system wide budgetary numbers for your review.
VentHawk CH4
While the VentHawk attaches to the production equipment and directs vent gas to the burner system or ECD, the VentHawk CH4 is a standalone unit. It can accept and utilize the vent gas to heat the pneumatic gas operating the valve/controller it is receiving the vent gas from, while also destructing the excess vent gas. This “Patent Pending” technology is proven and effective for trouble-free capture, utilization, and destruction of isolated pneumatic controller vent gas.
It is a great solution for isolated vent gas capture applications where there is no ignition source available, or it is too distant to utilize with the VentHawk.
DataHawk
The powerful DataHawk has 2 analog and 2 digital inputs with onboard pull ups, one radio port and one communications port which can be set to RS232 or RS485 for data retrieval through existing automation. If no existing automation is available, the DataHawk is capable of storing 500,000 records with automatic rollover of oldest data first and utilizes two 64Mb memory chips for redundant storage. The DataHawk also contains one USB port to easily configure the unit and retrieve the data, as well as utilizes smart firmware that will not write to the flash drive or FRAM when power drops below 5.3V, ensuring against the possibility of corrupted data.
Currently, the DataHawk is capable of storing 500,000 records with automatic rollover of oldest data first and data logging speed up to 1 log per second. Users can store data and review later for downtime calculation.
Redundant, CRC protected storage to ensure data integrity and to prevent possible data loss.
General
Currently, depending on customer volume needed, product delivery timelines average 1-4 weeks. Installation, pending MSA approval, range from 2 weeks to 3 months based on installation volume or installation training.
